Brethren:
We started the New Year off to a great start. Winchester Hiram Lodge hosted the Most Worshipful William Talbott Ellison, Jr.'s official visit to the Third Masonic district. Your officers did an excellent job with their respective ritual as well as hosting this prestigious event. The Stewards had an outstanding display of food, we had a full house, and the event went off without a hiccup. I am very proud of everyone who participated and helped set the bar (very high I might add) for the rest of the Commonwealth. You all deserve a standing ovation. Also I would like thank the entire District for their support and attendance. A special thank you to Tredwell and Unity Lodge for coming through with (greatly needed) white aprons. We could not have done it without you.
This month we welcome our new District Deputy for the district with his official visit to Winchester Hiram at our Stated Communication, and the Stewards have a great meal planned. Please email our Senior Steward Charles Brinson axle72@comcast.net with an R.S.V.P. if you plan to attend. Come from work, come from home, but come hungry.
As most of us go through life thinking we are so different than each other, the more you find out we are the same. So goes, as each of us strive to better our selves, and go from that rough ashlar to that perfect ashlar, a younger Brother, an older Brother may be doing the same thing. Trying to better himself in all his actions toward all mankind. Now more than ever your knowledge, skill and virtue are greatly needed my Brothers. Please take part and help Mentor a new Brother, an old Brother, and active Brother, but more especially an inactive Brother.
Remember that the Grand Master of Masons in Virginia has proclaimed the 1st day of every month "Masonic recognition Day". So be proud and wear something Masonic that day.
So come on out, enjoy some good food, a interesting meeting and some great fellowship.
